Orange and T-Mobile Networks Combining October 2010
T-Mobile and Orange are announcing that their 30 million customers – the combined base of the two brands – will be given the opportunity to access both the Orange and the T-Mobile networks, enabling them to make calls and send texts in more places than ever before.
This marks the start of the biggest improvement to network coverage since the birth of mobile itself. It’s the beginning of an ambitious vision to give customers instant access to whatever they want, wherever they are – everything everywhere.
It’s the first major consumer benefit of the joint venture between Orange and T-Mobile, and delivers an unrivalled and unique experience that no other operator can offer. And it’s only possible because they ’ve come together to form a new company, Everything Everywhere.
From October, as well as continuing to benefit from their existing network, Orange customers will be able to make calls and send texts on the T-Mobile network, and T-Mobile customers will be able to make calls and send texts on the Orange network. Should a customer lose signal on their current network, they will then automatically pick up the signal from the other network where it’s available. The enhanced service is completely free of charge, with no changes to existing tariffs, call or text charges.
Early next year, the service will evolve and will deliver a completely seamless voice service, enabling customers to automatically switch networks mid-call. They ’ll also be enabling data roaming across their networks, so customers will be able to browse the web in more places than with any other operator.

T-Mobile & Orange Merger Approved
матрациT-Phone is pleased to announce that the European Commission has approved the proposal for a joint venture between T-Mobile and Orange in the UK. It marks an exciting stage on the journey to create one of Britain’s biggest telecoms companies.
The majority of this work will happen behind the scenes and the plan is to ensure that there is no disruption to customers of either network. We will endeavour to pass on relevant information via this site.
Hopefully the merging of network coverage will now be a priority for both Orange and T-Mobile – watch this space!
Get ready for BlackBerry Unite!
August 2008 should see the release of some great new software for BlackBerry users called “BlackBerry Unite”. This free download will allow BIS users to remotely link to a PC and sync Outlook calender and Contacts, access files etc.
Almost like a mini “BES” solution, I can see this being very popular with both consumer and business BIS users.
With the new BlackBerry BOLD also due in August, things are really on the up for BlackBerry users and many business owners are wising up to the fact that these are incredibly valuable business tools.

Improvements To Orange Answer Phone.
A number of enhancements are being made to the current Orange Answer Phone message service.
The main changes are:
• Initialization process to encourage new customers to personalize their greeting
• Updated main menu and deposit/retrieval menus
• Notification of subsequent new voicemail messages (new message alerts) *
• Ability to receive callers number as a text
• Ability to pause whilst listening to a message
• Introduction of contextual Help through the menus
• Notification of messages about to be deleted
* Please note that the New Message Alerts function will be rolled out to Business Customers only during January.
Only a small percentage of calls which reach the Answer Phone result in a message being left for the customer. Callers often end the call as soon as they are connected to Answer Phone, especially if the caller is greeted by a ‘machine’ instead of a personalized greeting. The aims of the changes are to encourage customers to personalize their greeting. The enhancements also aim to make the Answer Phone IVR easier to use and, in January, to provide the additional message alert function that is a specific business requirement.

New Builders’ Phone From JCB – Toughphone
We are expecting the new rugged builder phone from JCB to be launched this month and early impressions look like this will be a good successor to the Nokia 5140.
The Toughphone is shock, dust, water and drop resistant, and is operational from -20ºc to 60ºc. It is on sale from November and will be manufactured by US company Sonim, which has underlined the phone’s durability by offering a three-year guarantee.
As well as the Toughphone’s obvious brawn, it is loaded with Bluetooth, Push-To-Talk and tri-band. The device also has built-in dual speakers, which enable it to be heard in noisy environments.
According to JCB consumer products director Matthew Conrad, the handset targets a gap in the market. ‘It’s reaching out to an area of people who want simplicity and durability.
We can see a definate market within the B2B market and will be selling the Toughphone.

Fake iPhone nothing to do with us!
We noticed that there is a Chinese fake Apple iPhone doing the rounds which, upon closer inspection, seems to be called a tPhone.
We can categorically state that this has nothing to do with your favourite Business Mobile Phone dealer and any resemblance to our good name is purely coincidental!!
